Some vapers prefer the convenience of a large juice tank. Tanks that hold 2ml were large two years ago. The Kanger Subtank that held 6ml was considered enormous just twelve months ago. Now, though, Kanger have changed the game, releasing an all-in-one device and tank that holds a massive 10ml of juice.
The Nebox is a 60 watt Temp Control box mod that features an in-built tank that takes Kanger’s patented OCC sub-ohm coils. But Kanger haven’t just tossed out a new mod that takes only the existing coils, either. In addition to the OCC coils, the Nebox takes Kanger’s new SSOCC sub-ohm coils, too.
The SSOCC coils have an outer casing made of stainless steel, and come in the same 0.5 ohm and 1.2 ohm resistances, as well as a 0.15 ohm resistance Ni200 temp-sensing coil. They are smaller than the existing OCC coils, round in shape and a similar size to most standard coils.
The device is really nice to hold in your hand, with an easy to access firing button on the side. The airflow comes from beneath the tank and although not adjustable, the preset provides ample airflow.
The Nebox has a menu system that is entered by clicking the fire button three times in quick succession. Here, you can choose between the Nickel, Titanium and Power modes depending on the coil you’ve got installed. Once you exit, you can adjust the temperature or wattage through the up and down buttons.
How does it vape?
The Nebox provides a really nice, smooth vape, especially in temperature mode. You can use temperature mode right off the bat with the included 0.15 ohm coil, so you don’t need to buy any extra fancy gadgetry to get started.
The best thing about the Nebox? 10ml of juice, even with a 0.15 ohm Nickel coil, will last you all day long. This is a perfect device if you’re out of the house for an extended period.
We think Kanger have really done a good job with the Nebox. Not only have they solved the problem of a tank being “too small” for many vapers, but they’ve made it both really easy to new vapers, and more than adequate for experienced vapers.
An Important Note About Charging
Like any device, the mod can get warm when charging via Micro USB cable. With an in-built tank, this can warm the liquid up and thin it a little, causing leakage. Therefore, if you use on-board charging (charging the device while the battery is installed), you MUST lay the device down on its side while it is charging. This will eliminate the leakage problem.
